LATEST AS ACTOR
I appear as co-narrator in "America Over The Water", "A
Most Sunshiny Day" and "I'm A Romany Rai" - three shows
devised and presented by Shirley Collins. "America Over The Water"
had its most recent performance at Ancienne Belgique in Brussels on 11th
October 2009, as part of
their tribute to Alan Lomax. "A Most Sunshiny Day" was
most recently performed at the Quay Theatre on the Isle of Wight on 24th
April 2010 and "I'm A Romany Rai" on 17th April 2010 at
the Elephant & Castle in Lewes. A new show is in development,
based on the song collecting done in Sussex by Peter Kennedy. It had
its first public performance on 18th April 2010 at the
Elephant & Castle in Lewes, but work continues, in preparation
for a performance later in the year at Cecil Sharp House.

Shirley was awarded the MBE for Services to Music in the
2007 New Year's Honours List
and a Good Tradition Award by BBC Folk
on 2 in January 2008.
She is also President of the English Folk Dance and
Song Society.
I also appeared as co-narrator (and singer) in "Down
the Lawson Track" - a show about the Australian Bush poet Henry
Lawson - with Martyn Wyndham-Read, Shirley Collins, Iris Bishop, Gary
Holder and Jackie Oates. The show was last performed at London's Purcell Room
on the South Bank in early December 2008.
