LATEST AS ACTOR
I appear as co-narrator in "America Over The Water", "A Most Sunshiny Day","I'm A Romany Rai" and "You Never Heard So Sweet" - four shows devised and presented by Shirley Collins. "America Over The Water" has its next performance at the Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks on 7th July 2012.  "A Most Sunshiny Day" had its most recent performance at Cecil Sharp House on Saturday October 30th 2010 as part of an evening promoted by Miles of Smiles, that also included Alasdair Roberts and Trembling Bells on the bill. "I'm A Romany Rai" was last performed on April 17th 2010 at the Elephant & Castle in Lewes. "You Never Heard So Sweet" has its next performance (in a shortened version) at the Royal Oak, Lewes, on 5th July 2012, as part of Shirley's birthday celebration. Shirley and I also appear as co-narrators in Martyn Wyndham Read's show about the Bush poet Henry Lawson - "Down the Lawson Track".

It came as a surprise to me when this 20 year old photograph of me turned up in Fuchsia Films' advertising for their present touring production of 'I Bertolt Brecht', which played the Pavilion Theatre in Brighton at the end of March.

Wonder what the actor currently playing BB makes of it? Anyway, more importantly........

Shirley was awarded the MBE for Services to Music in the 2007 New Year's Honours List
and a Good Tradition Award by BBC Folk on 2 in January 2008.
She is also President of the English Folk Dance and Song Society.
